U2 – Oakland Coliseum

by

On Tuesday, June 7th, we headed to Oakland Coliseum to see U2. I bought these tickets almost 2 years ago, but it was worth the wait. We had seats together with the Lisa & Brian, Molly & Kjell and at the last minute, we convinced Lisa & Sean to join us. Lenny Kravitz was the 2nd opening act and he didn’t disappoint. It’s crazy Let Love Rule came out over 20 years ago. Both Grace and Lisa are big fans.

It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan and I’ve gushed about U2 before. For me, they’re the greatest band on earth. Any Joshua Tree song will always trigger a bit of nostalgia for me. There was a guy about our age a couple rows in front of us who had some tears streaming down his face during Where The Streets Have No Name. I wasn’t feeling weepy over it, but I could empathize.

It was an amazing show experienced with Grace and great friends. Brian and I are making plans to see them at the Meadowlands next month. I’m going to tell him to gas up the jet, and that we’re going to be inner circle, front and center. There’s just the small problem of needing tickets and a jet…

Here’s the setlist from the show:

  • I Will Follow
