November 1st was Lucas’s birthday. We had Olivia’s parent-teacher conference that day, so her school was out. As we were leaving the house, Lucas got sick. Grace stayed home with the kids and I went to the parent-teacher conference. Lucas was laid up at home. I had left something in the office, so I asked Olivia to go with me (twice). On the 101, I asked her if she wanted to take the train into the city (like me every day). She said, “yes,” so we did a 3-lane maneuver and went to the Daly City BART station.
We made a quick stop in the office and then walked over to where all the fabulous ladies lunch, The Rotunda at Neiman Marcus. We had a nice lunch together before heading back home in time for a birthday party she had that afternoon. I’m so glad she said yes (the second time).
