Jea organized a surprise party for Eddie’s 40th birthday on Saturday, so on Friday night, I went on a stealth trip to D.C. I couldn’t really hang out with them until the party on Saturday evening in Reston, so I played golf with Grace’s cousin, Nick, who met me in Rockville.
Bobby drove down from NYC and we met up before the party. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen many of Jea and Eddie’s family and friends, who I met years ago when I lived in D.C.
When the birthday boy arrived, he was truly surprised. Dinner and the party were great. We went over to Jea and Eddie’s new house afterwards.
On Sunday, we had a nice time hanging out with the kids – they’re growing up fast. It was a quick trip, but I’m very glad I went. We’re going to celebrate again in Vegas in a couple weeks. Stay tuned…
