Weekend in Tahoe with the Crowthers

by

Adrienne and John invited our family to their home in Tahoe Donner last weekend. Paige and Sam are two of Olivia’s BFFs at school and both she and Lucas were so excited to spend time with them. It was so beautiful up there and the weather was perfect all weekend. We know they’re a pretty active family (as we learned trying to keep up with them on the slopes at Squaw Valley last winter), so hopefully we didn’t slow them down too much.

On Saturday, we went rafting on the Truckee River, which was awesome. I took pictures right up until I lost my footing (and my flip flop) and ended up in the river along with my camera. It was a short dip and thankfully after an afternoon in the sun, the camera fired right back up (despite poor weatherproofing). In the afternoon, we played 9 holes at the golf course on which they live. It was my first time golfing in Tahoe and the tree-lined fairways were so beautiful.

Sunday, we had a lazy morning at their amazing home before heading to the beach on Donner Lake. It’s such an idyllic setting for both the kids and adults. Olivia and Lucas could have played all day in the water, and would have if we hadn’t had to get on the road. The drive home was easy and we stopped at Il Fornaio in Sacramento to break up the trip.

This was easily one of our best weekends living here in the Bay Area. The kids and adults all had a great time together. Thanks so much to the Crowthers for their gracious hospitality!
