Manchester United vs. Real Madrid at Michigan Stadium

by

I don’t know anything about professional “football,” and only glanced at the world cup as I walked by all the TVs at work. Brian, however, is a big fan. When I found out this exhibition match with perhaps the only two teams of which I’ve heard were playing in the Big House, I saw an opportunity to bring Brian to Ann Arbor. I think he only mockingly acknowlegdges my Wolverine pride. Alas, it was not meant to be.

The game was also coincidentally during our planned Michigan trip, which was perfect. Marty and Greg accompanied me and Grace. Steve took the balance of the tickets to bring his daughter and some friends to see Ronaldo. We tailgated with the Carlsons before and after the game.

Sadly, this was my first time in the renovated Michigan Stadium. We haven’t been back for a football game yet, but the kids are very interested. I had commented that I cheered for every goal and was unclear on which team was which, both of which were true. In any case, it was a great experience with old friends.
