Last year, the pandemic interrupted our tradition of spending Mother’s Day with the Moons. This year, with things getting back to normal, we met in San Francisco for brunch at Barcha. The weather was perfect for dining outdoors and the food was excellent.
It was determined that Beard Papa was too far, but we decided to check out a beautiful urban park on top of the new Transbay Terminal – thanks, Salesforce! Grace and Mike are both getting into plants and trees, so they were geeking out on everything along the loop. The kids explored and caught up and a couple hours flew by.
We grabbed one last drink on Market Street before bidding farewell. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more of them and everyone we love more this summer and beyond.
It was a wonderful family excursion to celebrate Clara and Grace. Cheers to these great moms and also to keeping traditions alive.
As every year, we celebrated Mother’s Day with Clara and Mike. Mike made reservations for lunch at Cavallo Point. We went to their house in Tiburon afterwards, where Grace spent the afternoon napping (isn’t this what every mom wants?). Even Elin succumbed to the food coma in the serenity of Casa Luna. The Binzers stopped by and Mike and Clara made dinner for everyone.
Hope we continue our tradition for these amazing mothers.
We spent our 7th Mother’s Day with the Moons yesterday in Napa. Brunch was at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc in Yountville. The chicken and waffles were amazing.
We went to the park for a bit. The benefit of brunching with a professional photographer is that we get one good family photo every several years. Thank you, Clara!
Clara and Grace went to the spa at Bardessono. Mike and I took the kids back to their house in Tiburon, took the kids to town for sugar, and then terrorized the park in Belvedere. We had Pho for dinner before heading home over our 3rd Bay Area bridge of the day.
Happy Mother’s Day to Grace, Clara, and all our moms!
We’ve spent Mother’s Day with the Moons for at least the last 5 years. This year, the tradition continued. Mike has been talking about Auberge du Soleil in Napa for a while, so we decided to take the families there for brunch.
Initially, Mike suggested a pre-brunch hike, but we ended up just going over to their place early and taking the kids for a bike ride in Tiburon while the moms chilled at home for a bit. They live on a serious hill, so negotiating their street on the way down and back was a big part of the adventure. The kids never met a jungle gym they didn’t like, so we made a stop. I can appreciate any park with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge. We rode out to Blackie’s Pasture and turned around for home. This was definitely Lucas’s longest ride and I’m glad he’s enjoying his new bike.
By the time we made it to brunch, we had all definitely worked up an appetite. It’s a really beautiful place with gorgeous views of the Napa Valley below. Everyone enjoyed their meals, most importantly, Grace and Clara.
We all headed back to our favorite resort in Tiburon, the Moons’ house. We hung out for a few more hours and headed home at the end of another great Mother’s Day together. Happy Mother’s Day to our Grace, Clara and all our moms!
My parents are visiting for a few weeks to help out as Grace has gone back to work. Thus, we were fortunate to spend Mother’s Day with my mom, as well as Addy and Charles and the Moons. Grace, my mom, and Julie enjoyed the spa at the St. Regis in the morning and the rest of us joined for brunch afterwards.
Happy Mother’s Day!
Today, we celebrated Mother’s Day with the Parks and Moons at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay. It was a beautiful day by the ocean. Photo credit to Clara for our family photos.
Happy Mother’s Day to Grace and especially our mothers.
On Sunday, May 12th, we celebrated Mother’s Day with Addy, Charles, Clara and Mike and their families. It was a beautiful day in San Francisco for brunch at the Waterfront Restaurant. Afterwards, we went over to Addy and Charles’s house for swimming and dinner.
Happy Mother’s Day to Grace, Addy and Clara, and all of our mothers!
