We spent all of Sunday in and around downtown Traverse City. After dinner at Mission Table, we finished the night at a local bar before finally saying our goodbyes. Sorry to those that had a 6:50am flight…
Congratulations again to Molly and Marty. Thanks for an amazing weekend.
On Sunday evening, Andi and Greg invited us to join Marty and Molly’s families for dinner at Greg and Jon’s restaurant, Mission Table, which is one of four they own in Traverse City. We were a little late to the party. It’s located directly across the bay from Fran and Jon’s cabana, so a boat would have been faster.
Both Mission Table and Jolly Pumpkin restaurants are located at what was once the Bowers Harbor Inn. It’s a beautiful old home, which is claimed to be haunted.
Grace and I both tried several small plates and the food was incredible. The wine was flowing, too. We wished we had time to visit all of their restaurants during our visit.
Dinner finished late, but the night was still young…
Grace and I stayed on West Coast time, which meant we were late for a 1:30pm wedding. Actually, we got there just in time. The ceremony was wonderful and Marty’s sister sang beautifully during the program. Molly and Marty smiled throughout the entire affair.
Molly was a stunning and beaming bride. We could not be happier for them!
The couple thoughtfully planned some time between the ceremony and reception so that we could catch the beginning of the Michigan game. The reception was amazing and we lasted right up until the last song; long enough, too, to scarf down some sliders and fries.
On Friday, September 2nd, we were honored to be invited to Molly and Marty’s rehearsal dinner, which was held at the beautiful Lobdell Teaching Restaurant. It’s an incredible venue on the bay. It was an evening of heartfelt and funny toasting to and roasting of the bride and groom to be.
The party continued back at the hotel and at club 905. Only the hardcore guests stayed in Marty’s suite until 6am.
