Grace and I quietly celebrated our birthdays together. Grace’s parents gave us a generous gift, as always. My parents treated us to dinner at Jardiniere in the city. Thanks to all of them for thinking of us. Thanks also to Francis and Jon, who sent us Reuben sandwiches from Zingerman’s in Ann Arbor! It was not only a surprise, but also a great treat.
March 27th is Grace’s birthday. Coincidentally, it is also my birthday. Although they couldn’t be with us, my parents arranged for us to have a very nice birthday dinner at Boulevard in San Francisco. We had to move it a day early because of a trip that came up, but Saturday evening worked out well. It was my first time dining there and the food and service were both wonderful. Our dessert came with candles and nice birthday wishes. Thanks mom and dad!
Grace and I went to Michigan for the weekend for Grace’s wedding shower. Frances threw the shower with my mother and Auntie and Uncle Park (no relation) hosted it at their lovely home. Auntie Yoon flew all the way from North Carolina to help my mother prepare the food. It sounded like they had a lots of fun and little sleep. Grace was pleased to have her mother, aunts and cousins as well as Anna, Mary, and Jennifer in attendance. The rest of the ladies included Jen, my mother, and several of both mothers’ friends. The dads and I showed up just in time for dessert, which Frances brought. I think everyone had a wonderful time, especially Grace.
