Paul and I were good buddies in college. Afterwards, we golfed and hung out a lot when I lived in Chicago. I haven’t seen him since leaving Chicago after b-school, but we’ve kept in touch.
Because I’m an idiot, I ended up neck deep in Florence + the Machine tickets. Paul and I were IMing right after this fiasco and I mentioned this fact. He said maybe he and Karen would come out for the show. I was hopeful, but kept the tickets for sale on Stub Hub right up until he gave the the green light that they were coming a couple weeks before the show.
The weekend of October 5th, Karen, Paul and Leah came for a short but fun-filled visit. This was my first time meeting Karen and Leah is right around Olivia’s age, so they all became fast friends. I took them around to some of our favorite spots and we spent some time in Burlingame before they headed back.
It’s been over a decade since I saw PK. Hope it isn’t that long before our next get-together.
