We spent a few days after Christmas up in Napa to celebrate my dad’s 80th birthday. My family went up on the 27th. I realized I hadn’t really spent much time in downtown Napa, which is pretty developed. We had lunch in town before heading to the hotel. All the ladies went to St. Helena to look around, while my dad, Lucas and I joined them later for dinner at Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen.
On the 28th, my dad’s birthday, we all had a great lunch at Bouchon and spent the afternoon hanging out in Yountville. The kids found Thomas Keller’s chickens very entertaining. That afternoon, Grace’s entire family joined us at the hotel and also for dinner at Bottega. Grace did an amazing job (as always) of making all the arrangements and menu choices.
On the 29th, we toured Castello di Amorosa, which is a winery in Calistoga. We stopped back in downtown Napa for lunch before heading back to Burlingame. We’re all very happy and thankful to celebrate my dad’s 80th together while everyone is in good health and good cheer.
