The primary purpose of our trip to the East Coast was to attend Bianca and Joon’s wedding. Although the kids were invited, we opted to leave them in the good care of their family in NJ. The wedding was like a Michigan reunion, bringing together so many people with whom I grew up and went to college. There was much to report from the wedding, but here’s the play-by-play in chronological order:
- We saw Richard and finally met his lovely wife, Jen, as we entered the wedding
- We were first greeted by Fred, who was serving as an usher
- Linda, Beth and Steve all made it from the Bay Area. We all came a long way to meet up!
- It was great seeing Melissa and Jin, who was in the wedding party
- Charlie came with Linda and Danny
- Joon’s brother, Shawn, officiated the wedding. We grew up in the same Sunday school class for as long as I can remember. He did an amazing job.
- Both brothers-in-law were in the wedding party (Dave and Charles)
- Bianca was a stunning bride and the were a beautiful couple
- It was very nice to spend time with Bobby and his fiancee, Ana. They’re next!
- Sandra Cho Kavanagh was there with her husband, Phil. It was nice to meet him and see her – it’s been 15+ years it seems.
- Grace was so happy for the couple, she cried for about 20 minutes, starting with the first dance, through the mother-son dance, and so on. And then a little more for good measure when we finally were able to catch up with the couple on the dance floor. It was sweet.
- Fun Bobby on the dance floor!
- Happiest couple ever
- Saw Cathy for the first time in about 15 years, too, and met her husband, Norris
- Ecquadorian-Korean fiesta
- Amazing wedding – best wishes!
