Our friend, Dr. Andrew Peden, is returning home to Scotland at the end of the year. Andrew was a post-doc in the Scheller lab at Standford while Grace was there. He finished his post-doc at Genentech and landed a great position at his old school, Cambridge. While we’re sad to see him leave the Bay Area after so many years, we’re excited for him and we know he is too. He’s off traveling the globe with Philip; the two of them will be kite surfing in some killer places for the next six weeks or so. On Friday, we had dinner with Boris (the German member of the “European Duo”), Philip, and Grace’s friends, Theresa and Ulrick. Afterwards, we headed over to Bliss, where many other friends joined us for his going away party.
