I already posted a bit real time and from Cindy and Jay's wedding, but there were other highlights from the trip:

We went down to LA for the weekend to celebrate Cindy & Jay's wedding. For no good reason, we took the kids to the rehearsal dinner in Monterey Park on Friday night - big mistake. The wedding was at The Athenaeum in Pasadena on Saturday. I'm not going to name names, but we were late. The only benefit was that I was standing in back and managed to get one good shot of the beautiful bride and groom as they were walking down the aisle.
It was a McK health care reunion, so it was nice to see a lot of familiar faces, including Carolyn and Mark, who came all the way from Switzerland.
The wedding was awesome: venue, food, company, toasts, cake & Pinkberry dessert. However, the highlight of the evening was when the DJ started calling up some random people, 4 men and 4 women, including Grace. Everyone was wondering why they were front and center when it was explained that Cindy and Jay (really Jay) decided a good old-fashioned dance-off was in order.
Here's the video. Grace and her partner were couple 3. Personally, I think they were robbed. One day, I'm going to have to explain to the kids that their mom tied for last place in this event. I also included couples 1, 2 & 4 in case you were wondering what they were up against. Nice effort, Grace!

Clara and Mike hosted Nicholas' Dol at Yank Sing in the Rincon Center. He chose the calculator, which Mike says means he'll be a VC. Happy birthday, Nicholas!
(did a little post-party shopping in Union Square afterwards).
BMC playgroup birthday season continues. Great times at Joselyn's party!
We had some time to kill after breakfast on Sunday - ran into Sharon, Joe and Samantha. Lucas enjoyed some window shopping. Olivia and I went to the park later that day - it had been a long while since we'd been there.

Great party at Little Scholars in San Mateo. Cookie Monster was a big hit, too.

Today was Olivia's first day of pre-school, which is just a few blocks from our house. We all went to go drop her off for her first day. She went around and tried many new things there. Her friend, Kate, is in her class on some days, which will be nice for her.
Although it was hard for all of us to say good-bye, Olivia did great and jumped back into the mix. I think she's going to love going to school.
Birthday season for Olivia's playgroup officially has begun. Ethan celebrated at Pump It Up in San Carlos on Sunday, January 3rd. I thought I was working hard going up and down the slide about 30 times, except that Kim Tramel was going up and down, too, and she's carrying twins! I once found all 5 Tramels at the top of the slide!
Happy Birthday, Ethan!
January 1st was a travel day for us, as we returned home from a great vacation in Michigan. Olivia made use of two of her favorite presents from Christmas and her birthday: her first suitcase and backpack. Lucky for us, she liked carrying/pulling them herself. Both Lucas and Olivia were able to get in a little more rest than on the trip out, so the cross-country trip didn't seem too bad.
It's always nice to be home.

On Friday, December 18th, we went to Grace's McK holiday party, which was held again this year at the Menlo Circus Club. It was a pretty standard affair, except for all the new faces. Grace also received her 5 year award (can you believe it's been that long?). Nice to see old friends at this lovely annual event. We didn't expect to stay too long and ended up being one of the last to leave.

We returned to Presidio Bowl for our Holiday Party, except with at least twice as many people than in 2007. Happy Holidays.
(either my eyes are getting worse, or something is wrong with my auto-focus - sorry about that).
