Today was Olivia's first day of pre-school, which is just a few blocks from our house. We all went to go drop her off for her first day. She went around and tried many new things there. Her friend, Kate, is in her class on some days, which will be nice for her.
Although it was hard for all of us to say good-bye, Olivia did great and jumped back into the mix. I think she's going to love going to school.
Kate and Matt hosted another incredible halloween party for Grace's playgroup. All of the kids were so cute in their costumes. This past year, Olivia has learned to love candy, so she got right into the halloween spirit. She went trick or treating for the first time. She found it important to inventory all her candy after each stop, which impeded our progress. She also wanted to eat some candy along the way and I found her biting right through the wrapper of a Crunch bar.
Right after last year's party, Grace went into labor with Lucas, so we celebrated his birthday with the playgroup before trick or treating. What's a little cupcake to go with a basket full of candy?
As a parent, I now realize that Halloween isn't just a day, it's an entire season. Both Olivia and Lucas got a lot of mileage out of their costumes this year. I wonder what they'll be next year???
On Saturday, October 3rd, Dora and Ben hosted Amanda's birthday party at Junior Gym in San Mateo. Both Lucas and Olivia has a lot of fun (each doing their own thing). The cupcakes seemed to be a big hit. After our requisite naps, Dora and Ben also invited us over for dinner later that day. Her mom made prime rib (my favorite) for the special occasion and it was delicious. I'm still full.
Happy Birthday, Amanda!

Olivia and Amanda tried several vehicles. I think Dora found just the right one.
