Despite pleading for no gifts, everyone pretty much ignored us and got Olivia something lovely for her birthday. She was so excited by her wonderful presents, I think she forgot that Christmas had just passed. Thanks to everyone for their thoughtfulness.

Sunday, November 1st, was Lucas' first birthday. Charles, Addy & the kids, Kate & Ben, Dora, Ben & the kids, Clara & the kids, and Shirley & Jon came over for dinner. Grace cooked quite the meal. I can only take partial credit for one dish.
Despite the small crowd, it was still mayhem in our place, with Alex, Amanda and Olivia doing laps with all the toys that made noise.
I'm pretty sure Lucas enjoyed his special day. We're planning his Dol for Thanksgiving weekend down in LA when all the families are together. Happy birthday, little buddy!
Our dear friend, Arthur, has the same birthday as Olivia. He turned 40 this year. Brian and Arthur's wife, Heidi, went all out to throw him a lovely and memorable party. Arthur loves to cook, so what better place than a private catered dinner on the top floor of the Williams-Sonoma flagship store in Union Square. Brian brought in all the food and beverages and Gary cooked everything to perfection. Special shout out to Brian Dhatt for his delicious creamed corn. Along with the usual suspects, it was great to catch up with Rebecca and Chris Lien. One unnamed guest saved $12 on parking.

Today was my 2nd Birthday. After not eating my first breakfast (okay, I ate some sausage), mom and dad took me out for brunch, which I also did not eat. Dad took me to the park to play. After, we loaded up the car and headed up to the city. After some shopping, mom and dad took me to the most awesome place in the entire bay area ... Fisherman's Wharf! It was baby Lucas' first time. It was also the first time I rode a carousel and ate a churro. After mom's yummy dinner at home, we celebrated with Kara's Cupcakes - yum!
